About Us From a very early age the exploration of crafts has been an obsession and passion for me. Working with textiles is a huge part of my life; it's who I am. Hats have always fascinated me, especially hats from the 1920's and 1930's. The design possibilities used to create hats are endless. Mad4Hats is a dream come true for me. |

All of our products are made with love and care by us in our workshop with the help of excellent local knitters and stitchers whose skills allow them work from their own home at their own pace, this also ensures our quality is kept to the highest standard. At Mad 4 Hats we produce two different ranges of hats, as well as our elegant and stylish range of wraps and obi’s. Our knit hats are vintage inspired, different and original without giving up the pleasure of wearing high quality , tactile and exclusive hats. The collection is based on the finest yarns and organic shapes to give our unique style which is unmistakeably Irish. |
| For our more structured hats we use classical materials, felt, sinamay silk sinamay, silk velvet, strawbraids and feathers. Our designs combine the traditional millinery techniques using hand blocked shapes, made with preformed wooden blocks. We also work the materials freeform, by hand, shaping them by cutting, sewing and stretching to give each piece its own unique and distinctive shape. Our main objective is to make unique, quirky, high quality hats and wraps that will both look and feel great. Each piece is crafted individually with love and care to make it “a one off piece” with special emphasis on quality. At Mad 4 Hats, we source all the materials we can from Ireland, and are proud to have earned the "Guaranteed Irish" seal for our commitment. |
